Categories for entry

  • Primary School Category for those films that feature primary school children involved in key creative roles in the production (script, conception, production)
  • Secondary School Category for those films that feature secondary school children involved in key creative roles in the production
  • Open Category for everyone else.

Prizes

2015 film festival winners

Judging is by popular vote and there are lots of prizes to be won:

  • There are three prizes for the Primary School Category entries. 1st place wins $500 sponsored by Harvey Norman Sunshine, 2nd place wins $300 sponsored by PC Accounting and 3rd place wins $200 sponsored by Money3.
  • There are three prizes for Secondary School Category entries. 1st place wins $2,000 sponsored by G.L.Lee Real Estate & Westpac Bank, 2nd place wins $1,000 sponsored by Shine Lawyers and 3rd place wins $500 sponsoredby Sweeney Estate Agents
  • We have one grand prize for the Open Category which is a cool $5,000 sponsored by SBA
  • There is also a Judge’s Prize of $500 sponsored by Shine Lawers for artistic merit awarded by our expert judges and which is open to all categories. Maurice Blackburn Lawyers Sunshine have sponsored the Knights in Sunshine 5 BEST COSTUME Awards – so make sure you dress up to win one of the $100 prizes on the night.

This year will also see the introduction of the prestigious Millennium Trophy, a unique award with a special reference to Sunshine as those of you who attended the 2015 festival will know.

Festival Screening

All finalists’ films will be screened on Friday 28th October 2016 at Village Cinemas Sunshine.

Open Category Primary Schools Participate
